Las Teresitas: paradisiac beach

One of the things that in my opinion makes of this archipiélago a true paradise are the beaches. Here you can find beaches for all tastes, white or black sands, large or small, desert or crowded you have many options to chose.

Of the all the beaches I've ever been here in Tenerife the one that liked most was the beach of Las Teresitas, with white and moveable  sands and one amazing landscape with palm trees, small bars and here you can enjoy a delicious piña colada!

I leave you here some photos of my experience at this beach, and I really recommend you to go if you are looking for a relaxing place!

A storm is coming!

To update my blog a little bit and also to update you about the news of the Islands, today the Government of Canaries declared red alert for the island of Tenerife , La Gomera and El Hierro due to the strong winds and rains. To the islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerte Ventura was declared yellow alert.

As I mentioned in some previous posts , the weather here is very inconsistent and situations like this are common in the islands , in 2005 the islands were the scene of Tropical Storm Delta that due to strong winds caused damages on all islands (also on the island of Madeira, Portugal ).

The information about the storm of this week (minor that I mentioned above) was properly spread, immediately appeared many comments and photos on social networks, like Twitter and Facebook , which helped me a lot to keep in touch with all the forecast news.

So, it’s important to highlight the big role that social networks and new technologies may have on our daily life and how we got information quickly and easily on current issues.

Tenerife

The island of Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary islands that form the archipelago with 908,555 inhabitants , is also the most populated among the Spanish islands .

Tenerife occupies a central position compared with La Gomera , El Hierro and La Palma and is considered the tourist destination with more attraction between the islands .
According to history , the Guanches , people who inhabited the island before the arrival of the Spanish colonizers , Tenerife means " white mountain " , surely due to the Teide mountain that is sometimes covered with snow in winter. It is also said that there are about 3 million years the island as we know today was divided into three mountain ranges , the Anaga , Teno and the Valle San Lorenzo and that due to a volcanic process merged to form the island of Tenerife .

Like the other islands , Tenerife has volcanic origin and was therefore also known as " Isla del Infierno " and the last of the three eruptions took place about 3.5 million years , the most recent was in 1909 Chinyero el .

The climate of this island has a peculiarity in the north the climate is dry and arid and humid south, may be a nubloso day in some parts of the island but if you go to the southern part of the island you'll certainly enjoy a beautiful beach day.

Tenerife has a large number of very inviting beaches , most of them with a black sand however there are some white sand , like Las Teresita , Las Americas , El Medano , Fañabé , San Marcos , the Playa del Duque and Playa Jardín .
The island of Tenerife is divided and 31 municipalities including : Adeje , Arafo , Arona , Buenavista del Norte , Candelaria , El Rosario , El Sauzal , El Tanque , Fasnia , Garachico , Granadilla de Abona , Guía de Isora , Guimar , Icod de los Vinos , La Guancha , La Matanza de Acentejo , La Victoria de Acentejo , Los Realejos , Los Silos , Puerto de la Cruz , San Cristóbal de La Laguna , San Juan de la Rambla , San Miguel de Abona , Santa Cruz de Tenerife Santa Ursula , Santiago del Teide , Tacoronte , Tegueste and Vilaflor .

There are many things to do and wonderful places to see around the island ! Later I will make a post with a listing of activities and places to not miss the island , for now I leave you with just a few curiosities and general information on the island J
